Frontier Youth Trust (fyt.org.uk) and CURBS (curbsproject.org.uk) are partnering to host the BEYOND Conference.
Gather with members of the FYT Movement and Curbs network for this 1-day interactive conference. Join us to hear stories of practice from children’s and youth work on the margins of culture and society. Listen to practitioners working in creative ways to engage with and learn from the margins.
What does the day look like?
Listen to inspiring short Ted talk style presentations followed by round-table discussions with the speakers to explore the themes further. Connect with others passionate about journeying with children and young people on the margins; be inspired; and make space for reflection.
The speakers will be from a wide range of contexts. Some will be speaking from christian youth ministry perspectives however this gathering will be designed to be inclusive of everyone regardless of context.
All are welcome.
Where is it?
This year we are being hosted the offices of the Diocese of Birmingham on Corporation Street. Who will be sharing with us stories of practice of reaching into their local community.
The venue is 10 minutes walk from Birmingham New Street Train Station. It is also close to a number of car parks.
The entrance is through the main reception to the office building. The door is between the Perch Cafe entrance and the Boston Tea Party Entrance.
Why are there two prices?
A 20% discount is available to CURBS and FYT members. Membership is free and available for those journeying with children and young people on the margins. To sign up as a member, or for members who don’t have the discount code, email info@fyt.org.uk or info@curbsproject.org.uk
Food and drink
Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day.
Lunch will also be provided on the day. Let us know about any dietary requirements upon booking.

CURBS (Children in Urban Situations) is a small Christian charity that resources and trains church-linked children’s workers in inner cities and on outer urban estates. CURBS advocates strongly for an approach to children which starts in their urban world, values their spirituality and recognises their developmental needs. www.curbsproject.org.uk
